The IC-7300 uses a data mode, USB-D, for digital communications. The problem with flrig, though, is in the mode. When I joined the 'dialout' group, I failed to log out and back in to effect the change. In my case, when I tried to change the serial port, after I hit the 'Init' button, it reverted to NONE. This is on Mac - but take a look at my configuration for the IC-7300 for flrig-1.3.31 The 72 use nearly identical CAT commands. USB-D in a manner similar to the attached which is for my IC7200. Close fldigi and open theįile "frequencies2.txt". Don't forget to save the fldigi configuration when done. Save the modified "+" and delete the old entry Then you will need to change the default USB to USB-D for theĭefault entries. If you are using flrig combined with fldigi and you are selecting IC-7300 is expecting voice, so it takes input from the microphone, So it reverts the radio back to plain USB. ![]() flrig does not have that option that I can find, The IC-7300 uses a data mode, USB-D, for digitalĬommunications. Group, I failed to log out and back in to effect the change. The serial port, after I hit the 'Init' button, it reverted to No reception reports via pskreporter, but I still haven't got that site totally figured out yet.Ĭonfiguration for the IC-7300 for flrig-1.3.31 I can transmit, but by the time I got it up, bands were completely dead. Now fldigi is happily following frequency changes, etc. When I've got a bunch of windows open for web, email, and applications, I often forget that I have to close everything, log out, then log back in, then try to get everything opened up again and remember where I was at. Using the computer for lots of things is my gotcha. It was the logout and log back in that I overlooked. Then logout and back in for it to take effect. Suggestions to use Windows and vague commands or instructions with no references on how to actually do it are not needed. Thanks for any constructive comments on getting this running. However, neither device gives me access to the radio. The latter seems feasible, as it references the CP210x device. There is a /dev/ttyUSB0 option and /dev/serial/by-id/usb-Silicon_Labs_CP2102_USB_to_UART_Bridge_Controller_IC-7300_02005779-if00-port0 option. I still get no communication with the radio. ![]() The manual also does not list the IC-7300 as a supported radio, yet the changelog indicates IC-7300 support was added in 1.3.25 and updated several times since. The shots of the I/O Ports window in the manual bear almost no resemblance to the actual window displayed in 1.3.31. I installed flrig 1.3.31 with poor results. I've got the USB cable hooked up to my IC-7300 and the PulseAudio volume manager configured so I am receiving and decoding psk31. Long story, short, I now have fldigi working in Ubuntu.
